Fight over hotel waffle maker gets 30 people kicked out

PERE MARQUETTE TWP., Mich. - A fight over a self-serve waffle maker got heated at a West Michigan hotel over Memorial Day weekend, reports CBS Detroit.

Mason County, Mich., Sheriff Kim Cole said 30 people were forced to leave the America's Best Value Inn in Pere Marquette Township following the scuffle Sunday morning.

"Apparently there was a line at the waffle maker, and a couple of people felt an individual had cut in line, and that sparked a verbal argument," Cole said.

"One lady walked up to another lady and asked if she was in line for the waffle maker thing and the lady never answered her," Cole said. "So the first lady went and made a waffle, and when she went to go and take it this other gal tried to take it from her and that started the fight over the waffle."

Cole said prejudices related to the ethnicity of one of the women in the argument may have played a role in the fight.

"The second lady was of Middle Eastern decent and some comments were made about her not understanding English," Cole said.

The argument escalated from there, Cole said, eventually including more than two dozen people.

In the end, there were no arrests, but deputies stood stood by as all of the guests involved were kicked off the property.

No one was injured, but Cole said the fight put a strain on local police resources.

"We had two-thirds of our road patrol tied up on this fiasco," he said.

LOOKING BEHIND CURTAIN

I'm a very helpful person, I love giving to anyone. But there is so much I could do and prefer to help people that will help them self. I helped some one recently and they decided to ask me to let them connect into my internet and they would pay me ten dollars a week. I had to say no but I gave them ideas that I did not understand why young people did not already know,that they had the internet right in their hand. I started trying to learn how to build a website on my phone and read everything I could through different website. I spent a lot of time reading everything I could .Even now when I' not at my computer , I'm still uses my phone internet to keep up because I'm still learning . They could not believe I started with my phone, technology has come a long way and changing every day. And doing every thing I can to learn every thing I can is my goal. There is some much to learn these days that there is no excuse not to learn all the new stuff .It is still exciting to me as it was years ago when I first started. That's why I tell my grand babies to please never stop dreaming and looking for what is beyond their imagination. Keep looking behind the curtain.
